Hole by Hole
Hole 1
One of the most difficult shots in golf is your tee shot on the first hole. Don't be deceived, however, by the apparent ease of this 150-yard par three opener. Read more

Hole 2
This 350-yard par four offers a wide fairway with tall pine trees to the right at the end of which lurks a small water feature to catch the occasional errant drive Read more

Hole 3
Guided by a marker post in the centre of the fairway, your tee shot over the small ravine is best played to the left side of the short stuff but avoiding the small birch copse at the top of the hill to the left Read more

Hole 4
One of the best views at Ripon is offered from this tee as the fairway descends into the valley and sweeps majestically upwards to the green 350 yards away Read more

Hole 5
The second of the par three holes marks the start of Ripon's own 'Amen Corner' and is one of the most satisfying of tee shots over a deep ravine Read more

Hole 6
The upward sloping green is protected front right by two deep, revetted bunkers and a shallow sand trap to the left Read more

Hole 7
This amazing par three requires an accurate tee shot of 190 yards descending over 100 feet to a wide green, perhaps the most difficult to read on the course Read more

Hole 8
At only 300 yards, this par four is a real birdie opportunity. A long, straight drive should get your ball over the hill and bounding down the other side toward the two-tier green Read more

Hole 9
Whilst the tee shot here appears daunting with a narrow gap to reach the fairway and a small, heavily wooded valley to the right, the fairway is wide and forgiving Read more

Hole 10
With a slight dogleg left, a driver may not be the best option from the tee I you hit it long as a pond sits to the right of a roll-away bank at around 220 yards Read more

Hole 11
Ripon's longest par four at 460 yards (500-yard par five off yellows) is S.I.(1) and gives up fewer birdies than any other hole on the course Read more

Hole 12
Ripon City GC doesn't mind admitting this one is a toughie, not only because of the approach to the green but also the prevailing westerly wind making it hard to get your drive into position at the top of the hill Read more

Hole 13
Your last par five on the course and birdies are certainly on offer. Your drive needs to be central to avoid the fairway bunkers left and right then it's up the hill Read more

Hole 14
This hole, your last par three, is an absolute delight. Galleries behind you in the clubhouse and to your right on the first tee; a huge, fountained pond between you and the green Read more

Hole 15
Keeping your drive left will avoid the large bunker as the fairway slopes gently right towards the trap Read more

Hole 16
50 yards separate the white and yellow tees on this hole, making a big difference to club selection for the second shot Read more

Hole 17
A classic dogleg hole turning the full 90 degrees to the left. A fairway wood should reach the corner leaving a short iron to the green, but beware of the bunker on the turn Read more

Hole 18
At almost 450 yards, this par four is an excellent test to finish your round at Ripon. A fairway bunker on the left is definitely in play from the white tees and drives going right will find sparsely planted trees Read more
